State of Dental faculty in India

State is pathetic and undergoing degeneration. This is what they deserve. Each faculty has to ask themselves, how much they do their dharma (teaching).
On the other hand it would be interesting to find even a single institute in the country who grades their faculty on the basis of their teaching( DCI are you listening). Today need for coll faculty is just a head count for DCI inspection.
Faculty be bold enough and all those who go visiting have guts to delclare YES I go VISITING, and then let everyone have a clear pic, why this hide and seek game. This will clean the affairs once for all, why have continued tension and keep checking website daily.
Coll knows they might be able to buy inspectors, examiners, university, education dept etc etc, they are right, they are runnning a business and if admission in just a BDS coll stops for one year it could lead to a loss of about 5 crores.
About every other coll spends more manpower in writing false OPD each day, if this man power was spent in gathering more patients, surely outcome would be healthy.

why are the dental faculty being threatened by managements and DCI?
There is lot of underhand dealing between managements and DCI. Colleges are running a business in the name of education to society. Colleges collect huge sums of money from students & DCI collects its so called 'dues' from college managements, so where does that leave the faculty?
A BDS lecturer is paid Rs3000-4000A fresh MDS is offered 10000-20000 depending on the subject of specialisation. All this for a full time teaching job. Most managements do not pay PF,medical allowance, paid maternity leave etc. An employee of a BPO gets this kind of salary at a much younger age without having to spend 8 years minimum studying. A professor in a city like bangalore is underpaid when compared to his contemporary in the north. The guy who visits colleges in the north is paid double the salary and only for working for a week or less!
When the DCI is aware of all these differences, why have they encouraged and abetted these managements in their malpractice? Surely, there is a lot of money laundering. With biometrics, DCI and management stand to gain. What about the faculty? If the DCI cannot take care of faculty welfare, standard of teaching and learning is definitely going down.

The value of dental education and dental faculty in India has fallen- thanks to the DCI! It has chosen to be blind and deaf to the pittance BDS graduates are paid. A college in Bangalore pays Rs.4000 to its BDS lectures and even asks them to do clerical work in the name of preparing for NAAC accredition.Fresh MDS graduates are paid Rs 10000 and are made to help in the admission process of its sister institutions! So are these managements really interested in the teaching? Is the council really bothered about dental education?

I know for a fact that part of the work of a dental faculty in three dental colleges is to make fake OP cards of fictitious and fill it with fake treatment.

If dci wants to manage no of days and timings of each faculty then why don't they manage salary of faculty , when managements don't pay salary on time or they don't even give. Who is going to check them

Wat is the role of so called DCI...? Wat most of them anwer is all the members of the council are corrupted and they are giving grants for many colleges which donot have a minimum OPD of 10patients.. but the colleges are taking 50 to 100 UGs and 20 PGs per year...then where is the question of learning (IMPOSSIBLE)... please dont make education as a business and pls give recognition for colleges who meet the protocols.. my strong advice is to have an income tax ride on all the council members..

the experience required for reader and professor should be reduced by 2 years respectively,i.e 2 years experience for becoming reader and 5 years experience for becoming professor so that there is no shortage of upper level staff. And number of MDS lecturers should be increased.
