After the 19 Feb 06 meeting 13 names have been posted on DCI website www.dciindia.org or should we say have been backlisted as colleges have been adviced to replace these members. Read carefully these 13 names are a repeat from previous 167.

Everyone knows myriad of names who continue to go on 3-4 days basis and DCI also knows, one has to ponder on what basis is this pick and choose ?

There are faculty members who are mischevious and there are good ones who have no role to play in todays environment and getting lashed from both sides. Reason is simple Dental faculty today is a divided lot, who will bell the cat is the question. Or are we so smart that each one is a leader ?

Purpose of this blog is simple, help Dr. Kohli and DCI in its mission to revamp the dental education ? Is it ? Rather all should search their hearts for truth to get the answers.

State of Dental faculty in India

State is pathetic and undergoing degeneration. This is what they deserve. Each faculty has to ask themselves, how much they do their dharma (teaching).
On the other hand it would be interesting to find even a single institute in the country who grades their faculty on the basis of their teaching( DCI are you listening). Today need for coll faculty is just a head count for DCI inspection.
Faculty be bold enough and all those who go visiting have guts to delclare YES I go VISITING, and then let everyone have a clear pic, why this hide and seek game. This will clean the affairs once for all, why have continued tension and keep checking website daily.
Coll knows they might be able to buy inspectors, examiners, university, education dept etc etc, they are right, they are runnning a business and if admission in just a BDS coll stops for one year it could lead to a loss of about 5 crores.
About every other coll spends more manpower in writing false OPD each day, if this man power was spent in gathering more patients, surely outcome would be healthy.

Work of Fiction

Yes indeed, today faculty is like a street dog, being kicked by DCI on one side and management on the other. Who is responsible, should we take it lying down ? Concept of visiting started say about 10 years ago, it was with quiet agreement of all sides and it kept growing. Management and chamcha principals loved it because they could run the coll as per their whim and fancy. Visiting faculty is never demanding and will sign on dotted line whenever asked. Some faculty members also have not behaved responsibly and tried to make a quick buck. There is no unity among faculty so who is to take care of their interest.
Mangements are using facutly like pawns in their game of making money (no one has any doubts about motives behind pvt colleges). ?
It would be a good idea to make an index of staff turn over, so that one could see which management is most ruthless in recruiting and removing staff. Staff are no match for might of mangements. Surprsingly DCI finds is most convinient to flog the staff, HOW ON EARTH a staff can ever be visiting wihout cooperation of the college. But probably it is more suitable to play games by punishing the faculty(weak).
Be careful there have been instances when mangements have complained to DCI about a certain staff (over sincere in teaching) that he is not coming on full time basis.
Someone said a college may also ask loyal managagements : Arey bhai kuch nam tumahare college se bhi de do blacklist ke liye (coll already has recruited extra staff on the tipoff)
Coll who are making crores are wary to allowing new coll to comeup ? and paying for it ?
